A WINDOW INTO THE PHONE
When Microsoft had the idea to launch their Windows Phone into the market, we were there to not only design a system but worldwide language. Little did we know at the time but the foundation for the flat design based on the London Metro would take the world by storm. Soon Apple, Google, and just about everyone in the technology space would adopt this concept and tweak it to make it their own. Unfortunately, the phone was not a hit, but the design language “Metro” is still used by Microsoft across all their brands and platforms.
Design is not a single object or dimension. Design is messy and complex.
